The Rules For Dressing Your Age
I get a lot of clients who ask me if they can wear things at a certain age.
“Can I wear this top even though I’m 55? 🤔 Can I wear this sweater even though I’m 26? Will I look like an old lady." The answer? it doesn’t matter.
Let’s talk about PERCEIVED AGE. Your perceived age is what you present to the world and how you feel on the inside. Every person views themselves as stuck in one specific age. And for me, that’s between 23 and 26. What about you?
Sure, I don’t look 23 anymore but I do take care of my skin and I do my best to look as youthful as possible—and there are definitely people in their '50s who look like they are in their '30s.
All that being said, age is just a number. You can’t tell someone's age just by looking at them and it should never dictate what you’re wearing. So, it’s important to do what feels best for you. If you feel like you’re 23 years old and you wanna wear mini skirts and low slung trousers, do it. And do it with confidence—cause that is the number one style goal and number one style tip I can ever give.
