Why I'm Anti-Capsule Wardrobe

It’s been around for a decade and the Capsule Wardrobe has garnered some huge fame as an easy way to create a multi-faceted wardrobe - ie: having 18 (give or take) pieces in your wardrobe that are all interchangeable and go together.

Which I get sounds nice - no thinking about whether or not things match, no stressing over statement items.

But I think that sounds… BORING.

I believe fashion and style should be an expression! I think you should be multi-faceted and have outfits and ensembles that speak to the different parts of you. And I believe you should have a wardrobe that lasts longer than a season because you are wearing the pieces so so often that they deteriorate faster.
